Welcome to Westlands Primary School. We are an exciting, forward looking, and innovative school.
Our children are hard-working, enjoy a challenge and love to learn. We provide a huge array of activities for children to broaden their experiences which you will be able to see through our news and updates. Working in partnership with parents, carers and other key members of the community we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all.
If you want to find out about what we are learning please have a look at our ‘year group’ pages. Paper copies are available on request from the school office.
The website is regularly updated so come back again soon to keep up to date with everything that is going on here at Westlands Primary School!
Karen Mirams, Executive Headteacher
We wanted to share with you the reason why we will only be having a one-week break in October next year, as opposed to the 2 weeks that we have had in the past.
Miss Rowson wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the children for their fantastic efforts in making the scarecrows and also to parents/carers for taking the time to come into school and vote.
This term has seen an impressive flurry of activity on Mathletics. Amazingly, EIGHT golden certificates have been achieved this term, taking us up to a school record of twenty two golden certificates so far this year!
EYFS have been reading the story ‘Dear Zoo’.
Our school is a large primary academy in Swale in the process of moving from a two to three form entry school. Since September 2014, we have been growing by a class each year and by September 2018 we will have three classes in every year group.
We have been part of the Swale Academies Trust since 2010. We work closely with our ‘sister schools’ within the Trust to ensure that best practice is shared between us for the benefit of all children.
Westlands Primary School enjoys positive relationships with parents & carers and we value the collaborative connections we have worked hard to build up. A strong pastoral team exists within the school to support families with a wide variety of issues that may come about. We have an active PTFA who organise many events throughout the school year as well as a Parent Forum who bring a unique perspective to school developments.
Year 1 Superheroes! As well as coming dressed as superheroes themselves, Year 1 also had a visit from some real life superheroes - Mrs Wheeler, a Paediatric Nurse, Captain McIntyre from the Army, and Mr Baron-Smith who is a paramedic. Thank you superheroes! https://t.co/zEbNcp6C1JFull Tweet
