On Friday 6th October, we took two teams to a football tournament hosted by Total Sports Coaching. The tournament included other schools from the Swale area and started with a group stage, leading to knockout rounds.
Both teams played extremely well. The stripes notched up an 8-0 win on their way to the quarter finals. After conceding an early goal, they dominated their knockout match. Despite putting the opposition under constant pressure for the rest of the game, they were unable to find an equaliser.
The navy blues really found their rhythm as the group progressed. In their final game they bombarded the opposition goal, spending most of the time on the attack. Unfortunately, despite creating some excellent goal scoring chances, they eventually fell to a late opposition goal.
Westlands really stood out at the tournament for their sportsmanship, positive attitude and support of each other, reflecting two of our core values: kindness and responsibility.
