Year 5 Dover Castle26/11/19
On Thursday 21st November Year 5 went on a trip to Dover Castle. Dover Castle was the Headquarters for Operation Dynamo, otherwise known as the evacuation of Allied forces from Dunkirk.
We learned all about the early events of WW2 and Operation Dynamo from our guide who led us through the immersive multimedia retelling. The children had an absolutely fantastic time! We also had opportunities in the day to explore the older areas of the castle, like the keep and the medieval tunnels. The slightly chilly weather was more than made up for by the fact that we had the huge site virtually to ourselves!
On our way to the ‘Great Tower’. Dressing up in medieval clothing.
