Hawk Class Update
Hawk Class were revising fractions last week.
So that we are ready to tackle Year 6 fractions, we have been reminding ourselves what fractions are and how they work.
Fractions are when something is divided into ‘pieces’! The number at the bottom (denominator) tells us how many ‘pieces’ something is divided into.
Even when fractions are divided into more pieces, we may still have an equivalent amount, for example a half! If we divide a fraction, we will have more, smaller pieces, which means that the denominator will be a larger number!
The children did really well last week and are already well on their way to understanding many of the fraction objectives that Year 6 has in store!
